This neighborhood restaurant is trying to have character and it does, extending into the bathroom. You walk through a woden door with frosted glass to a sort of waiting area with a mirror. There are two single unisex stalls. The one I went into was wood paneled with a framed drawing on the wall.
The one problem I had was the sink. I get that it's supposed to look like the original fixtures, but the basin was stained black, probably from a water drip. But I think it just makes the bathroom look dirty and that's the last thing you want in a bathroom.

CAMAJE - New York, N.Y.
Saturday, 10/20/07, 9:30 pm - West Village
For this post, a special treat -- pictures. I happened to have my camera with me, so I thought I'd add some dimension to this review (can't promise it'll happen all the time). Little did I know this location wouldn't actually lend itself to pictures.
It seems that the restroom was an after thought in this small bistro. It's literally just a toilet and a sink. There was a rectangular mirror with a gold frame. There are pale tiles halfway up the wall and the upper portion is painted red. In this case, the waste basket was also overflowing. Perhaps it's meant to not distract from the food, but definitely doesn't enhance it.
Here's more on CAMAJE.
